Description:
This typical Grade II Listed Norfolk barn was in a poor state of repair and Purslows were commissioned by the owners to design and manage its conversion. Purslows obtained planning permission, Listed Building Consent and Building Regulations approval for the conversion and were retained to provide ongoing advice during the construction phase.
The barn was sympathetically restored with minimal alteration works being carried out. Historic features such as the haylofts and stables were retained and incorporated into the design. Access to the hayloft bedrooms was provided by galvanised steel spiral staircases and internal finishes were simple, comprising natural stone paved floors, lime plaster to walls and exposed galvanised steel trunking to electrical services.
